Key Responsibilities:

  • Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual Reports: Prepare comprehensive financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Consolidation: Oversee the consolidation of financial results from various departments and subsidiaries.
  • Variance Analysis: Conduct variance analysis to explain differences between budgeted and actual figures.
  • Journal Entries: Prepare and post journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded accurately.
  • Reconciliation: Reconcile general ledger accounts, including bank statements and intercompany transactions.
  • Month-End Close: Manage the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and other relevant regulations.
  • Internal Controls: Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial records.
  • Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Budget Preparation: Collaborate with various departments to prepare annual budgets.
  • Forecasting: Provide financial forecasting and analysis to support strategic planning.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor budget performance and provide recommendations for adjustments.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Tax Filings: Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Tax Planning: Assist in tax planning strategies to optimize the company’s tax position.
  • Cost Analysis: Perform cost analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Profitability Analysis: Analyze profitability by product line, project, or business unit.
  • Investment Analysis: Provide financial analysis and recommendations for potential investments and projects.
  • AP/AR Management: Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions to ensure timely and accurate processing.
  • Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring adequate liquidity to meet obligations.
  • ERP Systems: Utilize and enhance Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems for better financial management.
  • Process Optimization: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
  • Training: Train and support staff in accounting policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in corporate accounting or a related role.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
    • Strong understanding of GAAP, IFRS, and tax regulations.
