Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Valuation: Ensure accurate valuation of inventory, including raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
  • Cycle Counts: Conduct regular inventory cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Inventory Reports: Prepare detailed inventory reports and provide insights on inventory levels.
  • Budget Preparation: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, focusing on cost projections.
  • Cost Forecasting: Provide cost forecasting to aid in strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor budget performance and recommend cost-saving measures.
  • Cost Reports: Prepare and present detailed cost reports, including cost of goods sold (COGS) and production costs.
  • Management Reports: Provide reports and analysis to management on cost trends and variances.
  • Monthly Close: Participate in the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate cost reporting.
  • Efficiency Initiatives: Identify opportunities to improve cost control processes and reduce expenses.
  • Process Optimization: Implement best practices for cost management and control.
  • System Enhancements: Work with IT and finance teams to enhance cost accounting systems.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Internal Controls: Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard cost data integrity.
  • Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Standard Costs: Establish and maintain standard costs for products and services.
  • Cost Models: Develop cost models to support pricing decisions and profitability analysis.
  • Cost Reduction: Identify cost reduction opportunities and implement strategies to enhance profitability.
  • Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with production, purchasing, and logistics departments to gather cost data and provide financial insights.
  • Project Support: Provide cost analysis and support for new product development and other strategic projects.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA, CMA, or similar certification is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
    • Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and practices.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • High attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
